Mehdi's Talks
Mehdi Akbary brings a depth of experience that enables others to move beyond limitations and achieve lasting change.
You’re at the best position to change.
There are moments in life when change feels impossible—when the weight of failure, regret, or hardship makes it seem like there’s no way forward.
But here is the truth: no matter how difficult life has been, how many mistakes you’ve made, how broken things may feel, or how many times you’ve fallen, you already have everything you need to rise again.

The power to turn your life around is not somewhere outside of you. It’s already within you—waiting to be recognized, activated, and used.

Mehdi Akbary’s Talks empowers the audience to uncover that inner strength. It helps them see beyond limitations, build confidence, and discover the unlimited potential they carry—often without realizing it.

Allow Mehdi to show you what’s possible.
Allow him to prove that transformation doesn’t start with circumstances—it starts with belief.

You are not your mind.
Much of our pain and suffering comes from one mistake: believing we are our mind.

When we identify with our thoughts, we obey them without question. If the mind creates stress, we feel overwhelmed. If it produces fear or frustration, we react. If it feeds uncertainty, we believe it. Thought by thought, we surrender our power—treating every mental voice as truth simply because we assume it is who we are.
But the mind is a tool, not our identity.

In Mehdi Akbary’s Talk, the audience learn how to step out of unconscious thinking and reclaim control. They discover how to disidentify from limiting thoughts and begin using the mind intentionally—rather than being used by it.
This shift is transformative. Students gain greater clarity, emotional balance, confidence, and focus. Instead of being driven by fear or self-doubt, they learn how to respond with awareness, choice, and purpose.

When you stop believing every thought, they start discovering their true potential.

The Task at Hand
The task at hand is life itself—and completing it is how we truly live.
Yet most people overlook its power because it rarely appears important. It looks small, ordinary, even insignificant. We label it as a distraction or an obstacle, something to rush through or push aside so we can get to what we believe really matters next.
But this way of thinking is where momentum is lost.
The smallest, most immediate action is not a delay—it is the beginning. It is the seed from which entire forests grow. Every achievement, every breakthrough, every dream realized starts right here, in the present moment, with the task directly in front of us.

This is where progress is born.
This is where discipline turns into mastery.
This is where visions stop being imagined and start becoming real.
Life does not happen later. It happens now, in the task at hand.

Mehdi Akbary helps the audiences discover the power of this moment. He teaches them how to channel their focus, energy, and creativity into what matters right now, transforming ordinary actions into meaningful progress and unfinished potential into lived achievement.
Because when attention is fully given to the task at hand, life is no longer postponed—it is fulfilled.

About Mehdi
Mehdi Akbary’s life is a powerful reminder that even the most unimaginable obstacles can be overcome.

Born paralyzed in central Afghanistan in 1973, Mehdi entered the world facing limitations others assumed would define his future. Instead of accepting those beliefs, he chose to fight for his life, his dignity, and his dreams—often completely on his own.
By the age of eleven, Mehdi had lost seven members of his family to war, including his mother. Overwhelmed by grief, isolation, and despair, he stood at the edge of giving up on life. Soon after, he became a refugee with no money, no documents, and no knowledge of the language. Yet in his darkest moments, he made a life-altering decision: to live, to grow, and to see the world beyond his circumstances.
With no support system, Mehdi taught himself new languages, learned to play squash, and became a competitive player. Despite being discouraged, mocked, and underestimated, he began traveling the world at the age of sixteen—proving to himself that courage grows when fear is confronted.
As an adult, with just $2.50 to his name, Mehdi set his sights on financial independence. At twenty-four, he purchased his first business. Over the next two decades, he experienced both extraordinary successes and devastating losses—making and losing millions—but never losing the mindset that failure is a lesson, not an ending.
In 2005, Mehdi built his first school for underprivileged children in Afghanistan. Education became his mission. He went on to fund multiple educational initiatives across the country and, in 2017, founded a non-profit organization in Bamyan. Through his efforts, more than 431 orphans were given the opportunity to attend school.
For over a decade, Mehdi worked on his books, Breaking Free and The 5 Laws of Inner Change, sharing the principles that transformed his own life. He has taught these laws at Bamyan University and other institutions, empowering students to unlock their inner strength and purpose.

After the Taliban takeover in 2021, when girls’ education was banned, Mehdi refused to accept silence as an option. Against all odds, his organization found ways to fund and operate a school for girls—now serving over 1,200 students, with more than 1,000 more on a waiting list. (www.owda.ca)
