Meet Mehdi Akbary

Helping students uncover the source of their stress

This will help them achieve academic, social, and financial success without the pain and suffering of stress, anxiety, and uncertainty.

According to American Psychological Association, 75% of college students feel stressed and over 44% report symptoms of depression.

Stress is a mind made phenomenon and it deprives us of our true abilities.

Mehdi's Talks

Mehdi Akbary has been through it all and his experiences can help others overpower unimaginable obstacles.

You’re at the best position to change.

At times it might seem impossible to turn things around. But the fact is, no matter how hard life is, how much you've messed up, how broken your life has become, or how many times you failed, you have everything you need to turn things around.

It'll empower students and help them discover the unlimited potentials they possess. Allow Mehdi to prove it to you and show you how.

You are not your mind.

Identifying yourself with the mind is the cause of so much pain and suffering. Since we believe our mind to be us, we follow all its instruction like a slave. If it wants to give us stress, we take it. If it wants to frustrate us, we get into action. If it wants to create uncertainty, we fall for it. Everything it does, we blindly accept it as facts; simply because we believe we’re one entity.

In Mehdi's one hour workshop, he help students disidentify themselves and start using the mind instead of the mind using them.

Stress is the reflection of our inner world

Stress is an indication of an inner turmoil. Looking for solution in the outer world always leads to more stress and keep us dependent.

Mehdi helps students create an inner change which will manifest in their outer world.

About Mehdi

Mehdi Akbary has been through it all and his experiences can help others overpower unimaginable obstacles. He has overcome challenges few can ever imagine. From the day he was born, he had to learn how to fight for what he believed on his own.

He was born paralyzed in central Afghanistan in 1973. In the face of what others believed and the countless obstacles he confronted, he fought his disability with everything he had. He lost eight members of his family to the war, including his mother when he was only 11. Feeling alone and abandoned, he was on the verge of taking his own life. As a refugee with no money, no language skills, and no documents, he fought himself out of that dark times and set his mind on exploring the world. With no support, he found ways to learn the languages, taught himself how to play squash, and became a competitive player. Despite being discouraged, mocked, and ridiculed, he started traveling at the age of 16.

As an adult, with just two dollars and fifty cents to his name, he set his mind on financial success. He bought his first business at the age of 24. For the next two decades he made and lost millions in the process.

He built his first school for underprivileged children in Afghanistan in 2005. Since then he funded many educational programs in different parts of the country.
In 2017 he went to Bamyan Afghanistan and founded a non-profit-organization. He funded all his programs and helped sent over 431 orphans to school.

He worked on his books, Breaking Free and the 5 Laws of Inner Change for over a decade and taught these laws in Bamyan university and in other institutions.

After the Taliban takeover in 2021, despite the ban on women’s education, his organization has found ways to fund and run a school for girls with over twelve hundred students and with over a thousand more on waiting list.  www.owda.ca

We have a lot to learn from Mehdi Akbary’s life long experience on overcoming the toughest challenges. His program helps us discover our true and complete self and teaches us how to use our powerful mind to pursue our dreams in life.
